Arjun Kandikuppa: “PURPOSE has never disappointed anyone I’ve recommended it to.”

Arjun Kandikuppa first got to know of PURPOSE back in 2018 during a race in Desaru, Malaysia. We were fairly new then and he received a voucher for a PURPOSE trisuit as part of his podium prize.

“I redeemed the voucher and used the trisuit for an upcoming race. I immediately loved the product and have never changed my racing or training brand since then,” said the 33-year-old who works in technology.

“My criterion for a triathlon product is to have comfort in the heat without compromising the aerodynamic fit of the suit. PURPOSE products in the triathlon and cycling range are built for racing in Asian weather and nicely tick all the boxes,

while innovation has never really ceased at their end and with each generation, the products become lighter and more comfortable for racing or training,” he added.

Arjun’s favourites include the PRO performance trisuit – which he has 5 of, in custom and standard designs – simply because “they are best suited for racing in Asian heat in all segments of the triathlon”.

The storage and compression of the suit are added bonuses. He also likes the latest cycling jerseys from the SS20/21 collection, as the material is super soft and wicks away all moisture, keeping it very cool even on rides that are over four hours long.

A strong advocate of PURPOSE since he first picked it up, Arjun loves the brand for its “unparalleled product quality, fabric innovation, design and fit and product range”.

The product has never disappointed anyone he has recommended the same to and they are in fact surprised at an Asian brand offering such a great product in this niche segment.

Arjun only got into the sport of triathlon in 2016, but he has clinched multiple podium finishes and also qualified for the Ironman 70.3 World Championship twice.

With no races in 2020, he hopes to race this year and start his preparation for a shot at the Ironman World Championship in Kona in the next two years.
