PURPOSE announces its Indonesia ambassadors for 2020/2021

PURPOSE Performance Wear officially launched in Indonesia last year and we have been working hard to build the brand there, organising PURPOSE Fellowship rides and engaging with the multisport community.

Today, we are proud to announce six of Indonesia’s finest triathletes as our ambassadors. These high performance athletes are integral in helping us to grow PURPOSE in Indonesia and we are excited about this partnership!

MUHAMMAD AHLUL FIRMAN

Besides protecting his country, military soldier Muhammad Ahlul Firman is also one of the country’s top triathletes. Securing third place in the Men’s Triathlon at the Southeast Asian Games 2019, Ahlul only got into the sport of triathlon in 2013.

He heard about it from his uncle and was curious to give it a try. At his first race, he represented his school and won the event. His training as a soldier gives him the tenacity and resilience to become the strong athlete he is today.

ANDI GUMILANG

Starting as a swimmer in his younger days, Andi Gumilang first took part in triathlon as part of a relay team where he took the swim leg. From there he realised how interesting the sport of triathlon is, thus deciding to compete in individual triathlon races.

Only able to train after work, the military soldier still managed to score significant achievements in the sports such as representing Indonesia at the Asian Games 2018.

RONALD BINTANG SETIAWAN

Growing up active in taekwondo, swimming, BMX biking and running, it was no surprise that Ronald Bintang Setiawan eventually started becoming competitive in triathlons.

His first triathlon race was in 2018 where he came in second in the youth category. Since then, he has been clocking more and more wins, despite having to balance school and training.

LUCKY BAGUS WASKITO

When Lucky Bagus Waskito faced severe pain in his lower back in 2017 – a subsequent effect of his torn meniscus from his teenage collegiate basketball days – he thought his sporting days were over when he was forced to give up basketball.

Thankfully he found new joy in swimming, cycling and running, and Lucky has been clocking wins in local and regional races since 2018 – when he is not busy with his work as a reservoir engineer in the oil and gas industry.

EVA DESIANA

Full-time athlete Eva Desiana is serious about wanting to excel in the sport of triathlon. As one of Indonesia’s top triathletes, Eva has represented the country in the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games and Asian Games.

At the 2019 SEA Games, she was part of the Mixed Relay team that clinched the bronze medal and she also finished fifth in the Women’s Duathlon. Over on the Ironman triathlon side, Eva has racked up age group wins and qualifications for the Ironman 70.3 World Championship too.

NENDEN SARIDEWI

From being the last finisher at her first triathlon race in Bintan in 2013, Nenden Saridewi has come a long way since. Influenced by her cycling buddy, she has completed full Ironman races and also achieved age group wins in several triathlon races.
