Singapore-Based Purpose Signs Three Elite Athletes on 3-Year Contracts. More are being scouted.

Putting Singapore into the regional and global triathlon scene

Singapore, SG: As part of a drive to get into the triathlon and cycling scene around the region as well as globally, Purpose has signed on 3 athletes on a 3-year sponsorship contract each. One is a Singapore-based triathlete, the second is based in Malaysia while the third, in Spain.

The athletes; Lesley Lang (Singapore), Samantha Lee (Malaysia) and Alvaro Astiz Conde (Spain) will be wearing the Singapore-based Purpose cycling jerseys, triathlon suits, accessories and other Purpose athletic wears in all their training, races, and activities related to their sport.

The terms of the sponsorship are undisclosed.

Lesley Lang, is a rising amateur triathlete who have in recent years finished in podium positions in local and regional triathlon and multi-sports competitions in her category.  

Her recent achievements include winning the Ultra Aqualthlon 2016, first runner up Singapore Duathlon 2016,  and 1st Runner-up Powerman Asia Championships 2017 Malaysia.

Samantha Lee, Malaysian, another rising amateur triathlete has been placing in podium positions also in these past 2 years. Her career highlights include first runner-up Nusajaya Challenge 2016,  2nd runner-up Ironman Langkawi 2016 , 1st runner-up Aquathon Melaka, and most recently 1st runner-up Powerman Asia Championship Malaysia 2017 Malaysia.

Alvaro Astiz Conde, based in Spain, was a former professional road cyclist in the early 2000s. He is currently racing in the mountain bike categories and events.

His recent accomplishments include winning the Madrid – Lisboa Endurance Race 2016, a 700km race and 6th in the 2016 Annual Spanish Cup in Peñafiel.

While the three are the first few that Purpose have signed on, it is not the last. The company is on the lookout to sign a few more for this year. “Depending on what the athletes stand for, we look for athletes whose purpose is in sync with ours” said Noor Aziz, founder and director of Purpose Performance Wear.

“We want Purpose to stand for every athlete’s love of triathlon and cycling. And how we can exceed what we believe was our limit when we can truly become connected with ourselves – our purpose” adds Noor Aziz.
