Born and bred in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, Wei Leng spends her days crunching numbers and navigating the corporate landscape as a banker. But by outside of working hours she's diving into pools, pedaling through hills, and pounding the pavement. It all started a decade ago when running caught her fancy. But soon enough, she stumbled upon triathlon, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Embracing the Triathlon Lifestyle

For Wei Leng, triathlon isn’t  just about competing; it’s  a way of life. It's not uncommon to find her swapping meeting rooms for bike saddles and deadlines for finish lines. For Wei Leng, swim, bike, run isn't just a sport; it's a lifestyle choice aimed at staying active and healthy.

Last year marked a significant milestone in Wei Leng's journey – her first Ironman 70.3 - completing it in 6 hours and 28 minutes, she surpassed not only her own expectations but also those of her coach.

But it hasn't been all smooth sailing. Balancing grueling training regimes with a demanding job in the bustling city center of Kuala Lumpur posed its challenges. From enduring traffic jams that can take up to 2 hours at times, to squeezing in workouts between client meetings, Wei Leng knows a thing or two about perseverance.

“My work requires me to work long hours including after work hour meetings as well as networking with clients and work acquaintances.”

For aspiring endurance athletes, Wei Leng has a simple mantra – start small, aim big. Whether you're a newbie or a seasoned pro, there's always room to grow and improve.

Beyond Endurance

When not conquering triathlons, Wei Leng's got her sights set on another adventure – exploring the world, one country at a time. “Life's too short not to indulge in a little wanderlust,” said Wei Leng
