#HerPurposeIsHere – Lesley Lang
After her first Ironman 70.3 race in Taiwan – on her birthday in 2015 – Lesley Lang met with an accident when she was out cycling one night. A car had hit her and she had to be hospitalised for a week as a result.
“Luckily my recovery went well and three months after, I managed to compete in my second Ironman 70.3 race. This is my most memorable race because I had a different mindset going into it and I was able to complete it safely.
Instead of complaining, I started to adopt the ‘What doesn’t kill us makes us stronger’ adage and became more appreciative towards everything in life,” the 32-year-old business analyst of a foreign bank shared.
Lesley was introduced to triathlons by her running club friends in 2015 – they were the ones who told her “one sport is never enough”. She decided to give it a try and went for the MetaSprint Triathlon. Completing it faster than she expected was what pushed her to sign up for her first Ironman 70.3.
“Since I’ve started doing triathlons, I’ve gotten to know people who are so dedicated to the sport and this inspires me all the time,” she said. “I’m also very happy to be a PURPOSE ambassador.
I like the comfort and the style of PURPOSE trisuits. Most importantly, the brand is always improving its product line to meet customers’ expectations.”
