Purpose Sponsors Team Australia II in Their Quest to Win The Race Across America (RAAM)

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

To Take On The World’s Toughest Endurance Cycling Race, With Purpose

2 April 2017

Singapore, SG: Purpose Performance Wear is pleased to announce it’s sponsorship of Team Australia on their 2017 Race Across America (RAAM) campaign this June 17. With this deal, Purpose will be the exclusive supplier of cycling kit and clothing for the support crew.

Likening this partnership to one that is cut from the same cloth, this campaign will see both organisations working together to take on the challenge of what many has dubbed as the ‘World’s Toughest Bike Race’.

An endurance cycling race like no other, Race Across America (RAAM) starts Oceanside in San Diego and finishes 3000 miles later in Annapolis. The race covers 12 states from the West Coast of California all the way across to the East Coast of Maryland, all in less than a week.

Team Australia’s first RAAM attempt was in 2015 where they secured a podium finish, despite having faced challenges along the way. A rare win for a rookie attempt.

The time that Team Australia took to finish in 2015 was 6 days, 9 hours and 37 minutes, well ahead of the official 9 days official cut off time that all teams must finish by in order to be called a RAAM finisher. This year, the team aims to break the 6-day mark and to come in first.

“The riders are training solidly in preparation. The organising and race strategy is falling into place nicely. Everything points to a successful race” Team Australia rider and representative, Alan Bradley reports.

The team is fortunate to have partnered with Purpose. Their approach to business is similar to the way we race. With passion and a desire to be the very best!”

Despite other brands offering apparel sponsorship, we are blessed that they chose Purpose for what the brand stands for and approach towards the same objective

Purpose’s founder and director, Noor Aziz adds “Having been attracted by the team’s culture and approach to racing, we spoke to see if they would consider racing in the Purpose kit.

Despite other brands offering apparel sponsorship, we are blessed that they chose Purpose for what the brand stands for and approach towards the same objective”.

Team Australia comprises of Alan Bradley, Scott Gilbertson, Al Jefferson and Wes Hughes. Alan and Wes are part of the Singapore based Boardman Integrated Cycling team.

Scott resides in Sydney, racing in a variety cycling disciplines while Al is based in Townsville, Far North Queensland and is an Ironman specialist having competed at the Kona World Championships 8 times.

The team has the diversity, talent and confidence to match it with the best endurance cyclist in the world. To find out more about the team, visit their official website www.teamaus2.com.au
